Kiwi60's Bikes

Post by kiwi60 »

Gidday Guys & Gals,

Well, here are the two bikes that are in the garage:

The first is my 1988 FZR750 race bike, it's not a OW01 but it was good enough to take a very average rider to 2nd place in the pre'89 senior class (500cc plus).

Basically, apart from some very good suspension, it's standard - but not for much longer...

and here's the other one, sorry but I just love my Suzuki SV1000S.

I bought it new in 2005 and it only has 16900 km's at present.

I've done the usual things like ditch the rear mudguard and open the pipes up, but the best modification so far has been fitting high bars.

We have a draconion police force (don't we all) so sticking to the speed limit is advisable if you want to keep riding on the roads in NZ.

Cheers

Nice bikes those RU 750's. Over here in Oz they were made famous by a young bloke called Mick Doohan who won the round of the world super's here in '88 by about 10 seconds from the other Marlboro team bike ridden by Micheal Dowson.
Mick also won at Bathurst and the Australian Grand Prix meeting at Winton in Victoria during the same year.
Congrats on you 2nd place in the title. Regards, 'Slak
