Post classic final at Oran Park

Post by sbutler »

On the 10th & 11th of October the PCRA are holding their last ever race & last round of their championship at Oran Park.
This is a 2 day meeting & its gonna be pretty big. A lot of points on offer & a lot of pride at stake.. I have to realy have a good meeting, I need as many points as I can get.!!

Satarday has a full card of racing.. 2x heats [All classes]

On Sunday. The club is holding a number of feature races on the Sunday as well as the normal heats & classes.

These are just the feature races!!
1 Sounds of singles. For 250cc & above.
2 Sidecar handicap race.
Pre 1980 Fastest 40. For the fastest 40 riders of pre 1980 bikes. 1100Rs GSX 1100s Z1Rs etc etc
4 The Buckets Leo Wanker Cup. That'll be a hoot!
5 New era & Pre modern fastest 40 some of these guys can smash around the GP track in 1.14s. Not bad for a pre 96 model bike ay? So that will be a cracker of a race.
6 Battle of the Twins. For all 2 cylinder bikes both two & four stroke.
7 New era & pre modern F3 including P4 & P5 350s & 500s Formula 400s etc

9 Superlites
10 75 year old cup. For bike & rider with a combined age of 75 years+
:banana

You will see all the old farts in action & an ever increasing number of young farts!! :hissy

At the end of the day, ALL riders gather in single file, for one last lap of the track as a goodby forever

That's nice, but at the same time it's a shame. Happening all over the place. People buy cheap houses near tracks, then complain about the noise. Like the people who buy houses in the country and then complain about the tractors, or people who buy houses near airports and then complain about the planes......
If you're going to take a shot at me let me know so I can duck...!

I'd love to be there cheering you on, but realistically the only way I'll get the
time is if I leave my job and then I won't have the money. Good luck anyhow,
we're all barracking for ya!

And yes, a real shame about Oran Park.

And here's one way of dealing with that madness... :bfg

We had the same situation here in Auckland when newly moved in residents near the Western Spings Speedway Track complained of the noise.

After a bit of discussion with the local council, it was pointed out to the new residents that the track had been there for 70 years and was an Auckland institution and if they don't like noise - they shouldn't have bought a house in the area!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The council did decide to make sure that noise levels were kept down from the open piped maddness; to a more sane 90dBA, but otherwise they were basically given two options, put up with it or f$%k off

Do you believe that - a council actually doing the right thing :banana

All true but that wasnt the intended message here.
I was informing those that can get to the meeting, & for those that maybe interested, in a wonderfull weekend at the races. Its going to be a fantastic weekend because of a few reasons.
Firstly the format of the races, then the feature races, with the "fastest 40" etc, & of cause the last round of the championship.. Then that will be it for the PCRA as far as running a meeting at this realy great track.

BTW I love your salution Spook!!! :banana
