Kevin Magee is riding my FZR 1000

Post by sbutler »

I have been tossing up weather I should say anything at this early stage but bugger it!! I just couldnt keep this to myself any longer.

With the 6 Hour cumming along in November, there will be a heap of past winners & place getters, & riders,..
I will be doing the retro races on the Satarday, & putting the bike on display on the Sunday. Anyway, They will be having a parade of past winners etc etc.
I have had talks with Kevin Magee & offered him a ride on my Peter Jackson replica to ride in the parade laps. He agreed & was rapt at the offer. He is digging out his Peter Jackson leathers slipping them on & jumping on my FZR to do some parade laps. I couldnt be more happy for him.
He is a great guy & Im more than proud to say Kevin Magee rode my bike!! :banana

James Spence has some fantastic ideas for the whole weekend.
But I'll leave it up to him to announce them. But they are big.
I hope everything goes well, & the weekend is a great send off to a track that is steeped in history.

Info on the event>> http://www.the6hour.com.au/index.html
Now lets see if Cam Spook Stan & ozzy, & the rest of the EXUP team will be there. I betting they will.

i have to say i am a HUGE Kevin Magee fan. Two of the best races i have been witness to both involved the Horsham hurricane:

1992 WSBK at the island. Magee's return to compitition following his Laguna accident. Kevin (Peter Jackson YZF 750) and Doug Pollen were seperated by a tenth in both races, it was one win apeice if i remember correctly

Make sure you take a very perminate pen with you so he can sign the tank, but if Magoo is going to fit into his old leathers, he may have to loose a conciderable amount of weight!!!

Ha ha ha.. Ive already touched on the leathers subject with him, he said we'll have to gease him up, to get them on, but he wouldnt miss it for the world!
I youtubed that 1992 WSB races from PI, he was simply the best, An aussie team showing the rest of the world how to build & race superbikes. Awesome!
