That is also what I have heard, I have also heard it
is useful for quick mechanic work between races without
burning your fingers!

However DO NOT do it on air-cooled engines, if you must then leave
about 6" uncovered next to the cylinders, because the exhaust
pipe (cooled by the passing air) butting in to the head, is vital to
cooling the exhaust valve area.

Yep what spook said, & it stops the headers burning through the bottom of the fairing too.

Wish me luck fellas, you all know the Creek has been very unkind to me in the past. I hope this year will be good.
Its not a points round, but I just want to have a good weekend, run a muck with the notherners & get some miles on the GSXR, But most of all & come away happy..

P.S. We had Muzz on his ZX7 come racing with us on the weekend. He won a lot :)
