You may not be able to ride like Rossi but here's your chance to look like Rossi ...

New for 2010, the R1 will be offered in an LE Limited Edition complete with Valentino Rossi/Fiat Yamaha livery including the number “46” and “The Doctor” logos. Each LE will also contain a replica of Valentino’s signature on the fuel tank.

Since the standard 2010 R1 will have a starting MSRP of $13,290, and the R1 LE will have a starting MSRP of $14,500 ... that's about $1,210 worth of "replica" added to the bike. Pretty expensive graphics.

Probably falls short of the actual M1 that costs closer to $1M. I always wondered if the M1 label given to the bike was nothing more than a mirror image of the cost.

For 1,200 bucks I hope there's more to it than just graphics... Ohlins etc or better wheels.... I don't know.

Well from looking on Yamaha's website I get the impression that fancy graphics is all you get. Oh well these will probably sit around the showroom until they sell at a discount the following season.

That was the 2006 R1 SP wasn't it? SP=low-volume, homologation special, sold to the public in just sufficient numbers to satisfy racing regulations. 500 in all. It had Ohlins suspension, forged wheels and slipper clutch. Most of them are held by collectors, very rarely do you see one for sale. Cheers :)

I thought that the SP in 06 was the Anni Edition and the LE was the Anni Ed with the back slipper and full Ohlins.

The way WSB is going at the moment, it would almost make as much sense to release a Ben Spies Edition as well...I'm a huge Haga fan, but I have to take my hat off to that man.

Tim, your right about the LE. Same as the (our) SP but 500 only delivered to the US. Cheers.

Didn't even know the R1 cam in such a critter as an SP, haven't heard of them since the days of the YZF and FZR.
