EXUP Worldwide was born from the ashes of the original EXUP Brotherhood – the definitive forum for all those who have interest in Yamaha FZ, FZR, and YZF motorcycles.
Now I know the PJ bike is off to a new loving home & will be loved & cared for as it deserves. I have now pulled the deal together for next year. Im off to Suzuki & can only hope this will be as fast as the mighty FZR...
I wont be leaving team EXUP. I will be posting up race reports if you are still interested. Hope you will be? This bike give me a little more scope for racing outside the PCRA, which my wife & I decided would be the way to go for 2010. After that? who knows. I know I will miss the FZR it made a splash when ever it came out to play & wish [Mike ss] the new owner all the sucsess in the world. I know the bike is plenty fast enough to cause a stir in it new surroundings.
Isn't that the year that power came on at 10,000rpm Steve? Not that I like the choice oppossed to a Yamaha machine, but I certainly do understand and would likely do something similar were I racing also. There just seems to be so many more parts in the aftermarket and wreckers for anything Suzuki it seems oppossed to anything else. It's almost as if Suzukis have that same Chev 350 small block cult following. Not to mention, because the parts are so much more available they aren't nearly as expensive. For grafting on to my Franken Fizzer project I actually bought a set of Gixxer forks as the YZF's were so much more costly and only few and far between.
Best of luck to you Steve, I'm sure you'll do well on the good old LS bike as well. I certainly like the colours.

Yes Yes I know, I said, I'm building a project YZF1070
Basement is done now, 850 finished and gone...
Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin
Thanks buddy.
Ive had a couple of [road]rides on the gixxa & because of the flat slides the Yoshi airbox & snorkles the Wiseco 12.5 to 1 pistons the power comes on at around 7500 & goes to 13000 so its a good spread. Nothing like the wonderfull torque of the FZRs 3000 to 11000. But I was spoiled on that bike. It was so easy to ride, with that torque.
As for the GSXR parts. Your so right. You can get pretty much anything from the corner shop. The move was mostly because it opens up a couple of doors in other race clubs, & now Sydney only having 1 track.
:bfg [dick head goverment]
We dont have a lot of choice of were we race.
The 750 will give me more options..
Nice that your power comes on earlier, am I right though in thinging that was the year they had the real tweeky power bands?
Nice changes btw, to give it some bigger kahunas. I just love the lines of your new ride, it's almost like the front of a refined FZR with a realy nice bum job. I wish they would have stayed with that seating geometry also instead of being so head down ass up nowadays.
I was mentioning that about the torque spread in another thread, although my FZR still had a good bump @ 7grand. That's when things got real interesting if you weren't holdin' on properly.

Looks like a nicely cared for bike Steve. I love the those fat old Suzuki arses It should be a little kinder on tyres too... ha.
Looking forward to hearing about your exploits, the place wouldn't be the same without your race reports I'm glad you haven't given up the habit. I'm sure you'll have a smoking year I've run out of crap puns.
Looks great! Suzukis are certainly great at track and good fun being
a madman on the street, they always inspire me to ride like
a complete twat. I bought the Yamaha because I found the
Yamaha could do that and be a (semi-)civilised street bike as well.
I hope you have great racing on this one, and I hope the parts are
easier for you to find too. Now we need a PJ vs Lucky battle!

Looks like that will be on the cards at the Barry Sheene weekend at Easter. The team EXUP southern chapter should get a run together for that weekend. Mikes bringing the PJ bike down from QLD with some backup, so it'll be a battle of the lung busters!!
No No No, you can't repaint PJ, that'd be wrong man, unless of course you have issues with your masculinity and don't like knowing you have a 'fag' bike. LOL Just had to get that one in there as I didn't want to see it all go quiet.
