Cams
When I built my OW01, Cams were a big issue, as far as I know OW01 cams are the most radical of the Pre1998 FZR/YZF family, posessing the greatest lift and duration, as per my mechanic! Infact of you visit Megacycle cams website, you will see that stock OW01 cams are the an awsome street / race profile, as you get max HP with a strong midrange! If you went kit profile you lost all low end. My OW01 engine is 100% kit minus Cams whice are OE, I took the engine from 98.8 stock horsepower to 140 minus the ram-air, dyno verified (#'s will surpass 150 with ram-air) Kit Cams might add 4-5 Hp, but for $1,500 for purchase and install, and the degradation in low end I tanked that idea!
