Re: front wheel bearing problems/genesis to exup wheel swap
Steve - I replied in the 87/88 forum - more info in that post.

87/88 have different front and rear rims than the 89-93 or 95. 87/88 use a different wheel bearing on the front rim than the others. No easy options to adapt the 87/88 rim - there are some ways to solve the problem, but geting a 89-93 front rim is probably the easiest, cheapest, and quickest answer.

I have tried a few things in the past similar to this - some worked, some didn't, some worked better than others.

Good luck, Chris

cheers guys,

i have been thinking along the lines of hitting,
my local bearing specialist,
and giving him the o/d of the genesis along with th ei/d of the exup spindle

and see what he can do,

i also have 'wyko' localish to me,
they manufacture precision bearings and may be able to supply or grind the bore or something similar to allow the genesis wheel to be used

alternatively

its 89 exup wheel time - although im reliably in formed that the 89 onwards theres 4 different bearing types for these and my forks are identified as imports??

builds coming along nicely though apart from silly problems lol

steve

sorry this won't help much...

but I was lead to believe the 87-93 front wheel is inetrchangelable including bearing size

So this ends up being NOT correct ?

...I realize the span in years 87-93 saw the std forks and usd forks - but still believed the bearings to be the same for the front
-John <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/ ...
1995 FZR1000
1990 FZR1000
1990 FZR1040
