Curious about whitish smoke

It's Colorado, and has been in the 30s and 40s lately. It seems most of the cars on the road have whitish smoke coming from the exhaust, and I always attributed this to the temperature outside. How much of this is normal?
Whenever I warm up my bike I get a bit of smoke, and when it's warmed up it stops. Today it seemed to continue once the bike was warm and now I'm concerned about my engine.

Hmmm, what do you mean, Jim? I ran down and started it up again. The exhaust smells like gasoline. Am I just overreacting?

So I rode around for a few minutes. Every time I hit the gas, I could see a puff of smoke from the pipe. By the time I got home (a few minutes later) it had stopped, and twisting the throttle produced no smoke.

It's about 38 degrees out.

Pull the plugs...they should tell the tale. You can tell if it's pushing a little coolant past the head gasket or if it's a little rich. Rich will be black smoke
Coolant will be white steam and oil is blue smoke
When it's cold out...you will see condensation comming from the pipe as well nad that will stop after it warms up.
