It wasn't pretty but he walked away. I am starting to become one with my camera now. This trackday it took about 721 pics in total. Here what I put up. There are some shots of John and Corey too.

If I remember right it was the 4'th or 5'th lap. Had been progressively picking up the speed to warm the tires. Wasn't pushing hard throught the turn as I don't like to pass in the bowl. Just riding it through till I could make the pass on the straight. Following throught the turn and the next thing I know the rear end was gone and I was pavement dancing. A friend Jane got good practice at not target fixating as she was right behind me. Talked to her after and asked if she had noticed me do anything wrong and she said that everything looked fine and then the rear just went out. The tires on the bike are Pilot Sport with under 100 miles but are original to the bike and that makes them 4 years old. Talked with Tony (track day organizer) afterwards and he is the one that thinks it may be an age issue which sounds very resonable seeing that I worked in a rubber factory for 13 yrs and rubber never really stops curing and continues to harden. looked at the tires after each session and they seemed to be wearing nicely and getting plenty of heat. After the lowside it looked like it had no heat and was "polished". Got back to the pits and checked it and after two sessions got it back out for the last two of the day. Once agian the tires looked good after each. Will be getting rid of them though for Pilot Powers.

Probably the tires
Ricerocket,
I would be suspect of the tires too (4 years old is old for a performance tire and especially one doing track duty) ... plus the Pilot Powers will be better for performance riding than the Pilot Sports. But don't feel too bad, it happens even to the professionals with racing tires.
