That place is just awesome. Out standing collection of bikes and not a bad track either. As Silver sez...the weather should be fair as well
Good. And while you're down here I have this XS750 that needs the eye of a pro machinist !

It's only 100 extra miles for me, my route would still take me near The Dragon, and I'd love to check out the museum as well (I just hope there is a works YZF to get close to there).

I'll abstain from voting because either (Barber or Atlanta) are quite fine by me. I'll go with the majority in this case.

I talked to Tim the other day when he came over to my shop. We talked about when...Came to the conclusion of the AMA race near Labor Day at Road Atlanta.
He's really busy with work, rebuilding his house and expanding his store so asked me if I would sort of take the lead on this.
My plan at the moment is to trailer My bike, Tims bike (He's going to fly so that his wife can come as well) and possibly Jim from my shop's FZR across the country. We can go the Northern route and pick up Nate in Indiana and most likely whoever else wants in on this. We'll have a 20is ft two axle enclosed trailer. Tim's working on something with Yamaha Corporate that should be pretty kewl

Hey Guys,

This is Bill Brown, the guy looking to host your gathering. I have been
talking with FZR Dude about it. I can't get him to get back to me for solid plans.

Can anyone have him call me, directly to put it together? Thanks, y'all!!!

Bill
I have been talking to Tim. He asked me to take this thing over and I told him that I would after he had talked to you to hammer out the details so that it could be announced. Tim's a busy boy with his own house repairs and business remodel. If you would like to call me at 360-792-8630 I can also be of assistance and can certainly pass along any information to Tim
Thanks
Jim

Okay.... I talked to Bill and things are progressing nicely..... kinda.

The goal for this gathering is now a Track Day @ Road Atlanta.

This is what I know at this point.....

NESBA is now sponsered by Yamaha courtesy of Bill.
There will be multiple groups there:
R1, R6, Seca II, FJ, FJR, RZ, RD, YZF/FZR, and maybe a TZ group.
It isn't going to be just about us, but Yamaha as a whole.
Leaning towards Labor Day (late Aug- early Sept).

Bill is going to get back to me on what dates would be best for the group as a whole.

Stay tuned...

This is shaping up to be a kick arse gathering :banana I will more than likely be back in class at the time, but I will do whatever it takes to make this trip.

Jim - I can more than likely meet you somewhere along the way so you don't have to detour as much, that is unless you end up coming this way regardless. Maybe somewhere in southern IN or IL. Wish I could trust my bike to make it all the way there. You could always do a valve job on my bike while we're heading south and I'll do the rest of the driving there :poke

lol...don't worry, I wouldn't put you through that mess, Jim. I'm afraid to get in there and see what's going on with that poor thing. Maybe Yamaha will be nice and use my engine as an example on how to do a full rebuild on the old girls.

There's a chance I may be picking up a 94 FZR...so if that happens I'll have to decide which bike I want to take.

I guess i should at least start thinking about the valve adj. on my bike as the odometer now reads 21k. Is it real difficult? I'm not clueless with the kind of work as I am an auto tech by trade but bikes are not my specialty.

It's easy. Roll the cam up on the base circle and measure. Mark everything and take it apart, replace what you need to and reinstall the cams. Might as well degree them at the same time
