There are some who call me........Tim?

The perks with doing the group buy where: discounts at the gift shop, our group name on the jumbotron, the lap around the track (which nobody will be able to do), and free VIP parking for bikes during the weekend. We didn't get any sort of price break on the ticket prices, so the above mentioned items are all that we lose out on. I'll send the payment in next week and talk to the rep again and see how long we have til we reach a make or break point. There are still a lot of people who have not wrote me back yet so you never know.

After much consideration (and finding two major cracks in my fairing !), I'm going to have to bow out of the gathering due to budgetary constraints. Here's the major contributor to the difficulty :
This isn't completely definite however it is very definite that the family won't be making it. I'm going to try to ride up. Probably not on the Ace though.
That's a pretty good reason, though! Always liked the SV lineup so good luck with the purchase.
Since I haven't heard anything from anybody else that I sent messages to the group buy is officially "over." Even if Silver could bring his family we'd still fall short of the mark. The only guy that is going but haven't heard back from yet is Holligan. Since the due date for the invoice is this Friday I am going to make one, and only one, payment. I'll speak with the rep and explain the situation to him.
After July 18th DO NOT SEND ME MONEY. I can't string this out forever since they wanted invoices paid in full 60 days prior to the race.
To all that have paid me thus far I will still mail you your tickets as soon as they come in. I have to get addresses from some of you guys yet so I know where to send them.

I like it though I think an R1 might be a little better fit
FYI, I just filled up the tank this morning after putting the grand total of 127 miles she took all of 2.2 gallons. Remember that this is during break-in so I'm not running her hard however I am running up and down the RPM range (a lot !) from 2500 to 5500 RPM's.

Sean is devastated. He really wants to see Rossi. Had to promise to take him to Barber as soon as we can swing it.
Important update for anybody still planning to attend. The rep called me this afternoon and I turned in all the money that had been paid thus far. Everybody under the confirmed heading on the first page has their tickets taken care of. The tickets will be mailed out within the next two weeks. Once I get them I will mail them out to everybody.
Now, he can still keep the group "open" for a few more weeks. Anybody still wishing to purchase tickets will have to call the rep and order/pay for tickets directly through him. That means there is still a chance we could make the 20 mark, although I still think it's a long shot that we will.
If you are planning on bringing your bike to the race please remember that if we do not make the 20 mark you will have to get a parking permit for your bike, and that will need to be done on your own through the IMS ticket department. Anybody that is driving a car/truck/van/dumptruck will also need to purchase a parking permit for the weekend.
Anybody still wishing to buy a ticket can send me a PM and I will provide his contact information.

Good news for any of you riding down. Emailed the rep after I spoke with him yesterday and here's what he wrote back with:
I did do a little something to help you guys still get free parking for motorcycles, a track lap and a souvenir. So all of that should still come with your tickets. Thanks and let me know if I can help with anything else.
That means if you are bringing your bike you won't have to pay for parking for the weekend. This does NOT apply to the cages. For those you'll still have to buy a parking permit.
In my original email I told him everybody was still interested in pit passes, but still not looking good on those:
I'll let you know if any pit passes are available but from what I have heard they are not going to offer any to anyone.

Checked with the rep this morning and he said tickets are getting mailed out next week. Thought I would have had them by now, but he said give it another week or two. Soon as they come in I'll let you guys know and get them mailed out.

Got your message, Tim. We're staying at the Hyatt Place/Keystone on the north side of town. It's about a 20-30 minute drive from the track, but easy to get to by taking 465.
There's a link on the page that shows directions on how to get there, or just Google it. Tim and my family will be getting down there around 5 pm, so I'd say a tentative meeting time of 6 pm if anybody is interested. I've been to Indy quite a few times but don't know the city well enough to suggest another meeting spot.

Barring inclement weather, I plan to be riding from the DC area getting an early morning start on Thursday. My son is joining me and he's fairly newly licensed and not been riding much (summer classes) and hardly on the Interstates at all. He'll be riding an unfaired SV650 with clip-ons and rearsets and the suspension tightened up for the track. Good thing he's still young--it's 600 miles one way.
I'll be fat and happy on the K1200RS.
We should get in sometime Thursday, hopefully before dark.

So if I left from New York city would our routes cross?
