An incident that Rossi denies, he got a bit angry when it was suggested he brake checked Casey, but if he did, it wouldn't be as laughable as the curse

I know you Aussies are partisan to the point of blindness. But Stoner had the charisma by-pass at birth. He just can't recreate the glory days of Whacko Wayne Gardner or One Leg Mick Doohan.

nor is he trying too, Casey is a world champion, pure and simple, he didn't seek or ask assistance from any of the OG's (Old Guys). How can you compare 500's to todays 800's, they are worlds apart to ride at 10/10th

as for being partisan to the point of blindness, some of my all time fav's have been American riders, i havn't had any English riders to support, and i'm just a bit young to remember Barry Sheene racing, poor James, i wonder if he will find a seat back in WSS

lol... Stan will be blowing up like a Lorenzo on reading that Teego, and it wont be an air bag :)

I reckon Casey could be Mick Doohans son, the prickly little MFer. More than enough personality on and off the track. Casey's podium absence on Rossie's 100th had a noticeable effect on the GOAT. Lorenzo is coming and Casey will be back.

Speaking of personality.... I've heard Pedrossa is studying charisma by correspondence. I dearly miss the days of Rainey and Schwantz trying to kill each other. The nostalgia....

Yes, JT has lost the plot. Watch him being interviewed - his self belief has gone. There's nothing in his head any more except doom and defeat.

Any of our mates make it to Phillip Island? Was a good race.... too bad for Lorenzo...... and Dani just didn't have it in him.

Anyone catch the comment during the race about either Elias or Melandri hitting a seagull @170+ with his hand during Friday pratice?!?!?!?!

You Bet! Pics coming, but we got something like 800+ pics :scared
I think, so it'll take a little time to sort them. The race ones are from
Turn 4 (H***a corner) which is a good spot if you happen to know
"someone" in the officials. We have a new camera too so am eager
to see how the pics turn out.

Yes it was tragic for Lorenzo's title hopes but appears to have done little to
his 2nd place hopes. Lorenzo is spirited and enthusiastic, sometimes too
much so for his own good. Luckily he was not hurt badly, as he has
been hurt badly a lot last year and it was a fast crash. I could see the
dust and bits of bike flying in the air from halfway across the track
behind the pits!

A real pity for Nicky Hayden, he's a great guy when we met him and he
had no fault but was immediately 3/4 of a lap behind the others and
going slower and slower. I think his rear tyre might have been damaged
when Lorenzo hit him.

Not like the 125 and 250 crashes at turn 4, which is a slow corner, they
tend to just slide a bit and get up, say "damn" and get back on the bike
losing about 3 places :P

Nope, sadly had to work friday and saturday on pain of getting fired if I
didn't. But I got some good race-watching on Sunday.

Melandri hit one with his Lt hand 3/4 of the way down the front straight @170 MPH. He was very lucky he didn't end in in Hospital like Canepa did after hitting on closer to turn 1

Seen the result of a bird strike on a Troy Corser Ducati at the Island many years ago, he stood out the back of the pits in his leathers as his team hosed the bird remains off, even worse was the sight of said bird lodged into the instrument panel.....yuk

The racing back in the pack on Sunday was great to watch, with Edwards caught napping on the start line, he pushed his way through the pack to ramain the best of the rest

Go Casey

Yes he rode very well, and admitted to us afterwards that he had
trouble picking out the start lights and didn't launch on the light, but only
when he noticed the other bikes launch. He's a funny guy - him and
Randy Mamola were having a good joke.

That was one of the better MotoGP races I've watched, and it was sooo good to watch Casey toy with Rossi - speeding up, slowing down, speeding up etc

Casey's back in action!!!!

It's going to be great to watch the next few races, 'cause if Casey can repeat what he did at PI in the remaining battles, it might take a bit of the gloss of Rossi winning the world title and make watching a whole lot more interesting.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm a huge Rossi fan (even have a personally autographed photo), but it's great to see another rider having a good fight with him.

Was that every one resigned in their minds that the season and championship was over? Wobbling around and saving their butts for next season? That wasn't a race was it? … They should have just canceled the contest due to a lack of interest… perhaps next year as well?

At least Casey showed that racing is important… sideways every where. Rossi is Champion, who wouldn't play it safe I guess? However, as Stan would say…

Go Casey! And congratulations to the G.O.A.T.

Is that for real? Don't play with me spook? Really, did they finally admit that the 800's are going just as fast as the older 990's? I wish they would get rid of some of the electronics as well. It's supposed to be 'racing' not twist'n'go or pull'n'hold on. Not that electronics have reduced racing to that but...... I always thought it was suppossed to be a test of machine and man's ability to wield it?

Yes 1000cc is coming back. Their excuse for the 800s is that
"due to the economy it is necessary to get most values for money,
now is the right time for 1000cc so that the research and development
spent in GP has a more direct relevance to road bikes".

I suspect there will be some form of simplification of the bikes also
such as tight fuel limits, maybe rev limits, maybe a standardized
electronics package?

Just when I thought there may have been hope for the revitalization of the 3/4 Litre machines. Oh well. Ain't like I don't like Litre bikes anyways.
