The Bane of my existence is finally gone!!!

Post by sickle44 »

2007 I tore the FZR down and began amassing parts to Franken Fizzer it
2008 We bought this car for flipping, although it didn't look quite that pretty at the time, sorry for the fuzzy photo

2014 Car was finally ready to go, but in good Bavarian Manure Wagon timely fashion, the engine electrically completely shit it pants. This is where it's absolutely vital to have someone who know's these cars through and through, balls to bones, otherwise you'll end up replacing several parts which don't need replacing.
I fought with the car for another two years and finally got it somewhat driveable, then this "professional shop" took another year at it, which then took me another 2 months to fix my alleged 'fixed' car, can you say small claims court!!
Finally saw it go a couple days ago, and So begins the work on my two wheeled projects, YEAAAHHHH!! Whooot Whooot!

Here's a couple of engine shots

and this is me driving it off to its new owner, turn your good speakers up loud, this thing sounds so wicked with custom exhaust.

Well,

Now I've got home renos and the FZ1 to fix first, BUT.... Yes, I am definitely void of the most aggravating excuse of them all, that is for sure. I figure I might actually be able to start working on the chassis October/November.....

What did you think of the bimmer engine Ralph? Upon taking the valve covers off, the banjo bolts that held the oil delivery rods for the cams, completely loose, as in you could remove them with your fingers. Bavarian Manure Wagons.......!!! Nice when they work and have all of the their faults sorted out, but man.... you would never believe the kinds of faults they carry for their asking prices....

Very nice job indeed. I googled the Bmw type and they are a monster in their own right. I guess anything with a V-12 in it is going to pull good money from collectors, even if it is fickled.

How come my BMW only had 4 cylinders? Damn I got cheated. :roflmao

I had my 88 318i for only 3 months. Dealer had it for 2 of the 3 before they bought it back under threat of suit. Damn think CLUNKED hard when the driver side front wheel hit a bump. New cars SHOULD NOT do that. One of the service mgrs. ideas was to just turn up the radio. :super-mad

After that, I will never own a german car again (also working on my former bosses Benzes, Audi's and Porsches helped with my decision).

I will say they are quite lovely once they are sorted out. I just don't think a person should essentially have to spend as much money as buying a new car to sort them out after the initial $140,000(that was in 92) car has been driven for around 100000km. For example, because the 8 was waaaayyy ahead of its time, first vehicle to ever use a fly by wire system, in 1991, that is, it's notorious for the throttle bodies shitting the beds. They won't let you buy the few dollars in parts to actually service the throttle body, nooooo, you just have to buy one for $4000... Oh, there's two btw, so that's $8k now, and that's just one of the issues. ZERO value/dollar, Ultimate driving machine my arse.

I could go on, but.....
