Tire recommendations for a YZF750

Post by Hooligan »

Hello everyone,

Long f'ing time since I have posted. Too long...

Anyway, I don't believe I updated the group regarding a YZF750 purchase I made a couple of years ago. I will post details to the YZF750 section shortly. In the meantime I am looking for recommendations on a new set of tires for the bike. I have read some positive reviews on a variety of tires from all the big brands, but I was hoping to get some from the riders here. I am considering a sport-touring tire due to how well they work on the street for most riders out there. Basically a good compromise between longevity, grip, and price. Plus, it can be difficult to find decent twisties where I currently live so the ability to eat a few miles without squaring off is nice.

Thanks guys.

Heh Jason, welcome back mate

I can't really recommend any tyres like that as I tend to use scrubs in mine as I'm close to some twisty roads.

i'm biased a bit towards Dunlop, but there are plenty of good dual compound sports touring options out there.

I always liked Michelin Pilots for the FZR and found them to be a great compromise of all conditions. Looking at their website now, it seems they've got several different versions of them, and the ones I road are years old now. The dual compound ones are awesome for sport touring as I'm also from flat planed land with very little in the way of twisties until you get 5 hours away to the mountains.
