No 2nd gear, XS750

I have no 2nd gear while up-shifting. If I try to accelerate, it's as if I'm in neutral. However it feels as if I have engine braking while down-shifting. I've been told by a couple of people that this was a common problem and major disassembly was not required. Can anyone advise me on this problem? <p></p><i></i>

Well...it sounds like the dogs are worn....which will requite splitting the cases. Get a shop manual and have at it . It's not that difficult, if you take your time and have the right tools at hand<br>Jim <p></p><i></i>
