Re: Plastic Repair
Hey Barney, why yes I am interested. Got some cracks & dings on my fairings that are going to need some attention.
Does this stuff paint over Ok? I'm assuming it does if it's being used for bumpers, but what's you'r experience with it (results-wise) for painting? You being in that business, how about color matching for touch up? I don't have a clue where to start on body work, go to Yamaha? maybe get colors matched at a local paint supply shop? Or just repaint British racing green with yellow stripes(!?). Anyway thanx for the heads up. Is that your '88 in the avatar? Looks like lower frame supports in the pick.

Re: Plastic Repair
cvhjkdis, Yes that is my bike. There are no lowers or upper fairing on it. The plastic repair would just be like any other body work. After you get it just the way you want, just primer it with 3 good coats of primer. Most paint shops can color match anything for you. Best thing to do is call around.<img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... ock_On.gif ALT=":rock">
I be ridin in the Cali Bay Area:'88 FZR1K'01 ZX-6R

Thanks John<img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... odpost.gif ALT=":goodpost"> To be more specific, this is the one I used for my fairing repair here. You also need to get the general purpose cleaner and the adhesion promoter. This stuff really works great. When the 3M rep came in to show us how to use it, he repaired a completely missing tab and when he was done, I used a pair of vise grips to rip it off. It took me about 12-13 yanks, twists, and bending to finally break it off. I was sold. The whole process took him like 30 min!<img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... ock_On.gif ALT=":rock">
I be ridin in the Cali Bay Area:'88 FZR1K'01 ZX-6R
