clutch rattle

clutch rattle

Go borrow an impact wrench and a compressor. No kidding, do it!!!!!<br>That is the sound of a cracked basket. Not easy to see the hairline crack while it is in the dark engine case<br>Remove it and inspect it very carefully in the full light of day!<br>Look at it this way....If I'm wrong, you're wasted a half hour of labor. thanks jim but ive had it all apart this aftrnoon only thing i could find was the boss nut ,the big 1 was only hand tight so stripped it all cleaned it all inspected it all and reasembled expecting it to be quiet but theres no differance ?? and thats including putting that nut to 70lbs <p></p><i></i>

Hmmmmm<br>Measure the slot width on the basket and compare with the tab width on the plates<br>Are the slots buggered up?<br>Clutched rattle because of a lack of oil also. is it the light rattle like a Ducatti or a heavier noise? <br>I'm down to fishing here.....<br>Jim <p></p><i></i>

BASKET FINGERS LOOK OK LIGHT MARKS BUT NOTHING BAD FOR 33000 MILES ,NEW OIL AND FILTER TOMMOROW AND WILL LISTEN AGAIN ?? <p></p><i></i>

errm maybe not the clutch

could have been a bit low on oil...Them plates will rattle if not lubricated properly<br>Glad it's quiet again<br>Jim <p></p><i></i>

It doesn't even have to be that fancy, just the additional holes will make a difference. Be very careful when drilling that you don't take more material from one hole than another, easier than you think when drilling aluminum<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :\ --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> , so that the hub stays relatively balanced. <p></p><i></i>
