EXUP Worldwide was born from the ashes of the original EXUP Brotherhood – the definitive forum for all those who have interest in Yamaha FZ, FZR, and YZF motorcycles.
It has been way too long and looking at these old photos has reminded me that I have to go back but one good way to enjoy those little sport bikes was to rent them in Thailand. That had rows of sweet little sport bikes (CBR400RRs, FZR250s, RGs, GSX-R400s etc.) that you could rent for cheap.
You must be pretty close to that area Willi (being in Brisbaine), do they still have those for rent?
When I went in to rent one a couple of guys dressed in shorts and t-shirts (just like me!) had just come in after crashing their rental sportbikes. they were covered in road rash and were arguing with owner about how much it was going to cost to get there passports back! After seeing that my buddy and I decided to rent the dirt bikes instead of the sportbikes seeing as I hadn't packed my leathers or helmet in my duffle bag. I rented a Honda CR-M (a dual sport CR-250, very cool!). It was a kick. Much better for getting to those out of the way beaches on the South China Sea.

Yes Yes I know, I said, I'm building a project YZF1070
Basement is done now, 850 finished and gone...
Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin
I'm all for history, nostalgia and keeping old things alive and not crushed, but 2plus million, it just doesn't make any sense to me. I've got a buddy who's got a judge rag top now worth a quarter million. Just don't get it! Maybe it's just cause I screwed up when I was a kid and didn't get the 71 rag top Karmann Ghia for dirt cheap when I could have. Doh!!

I think predominantly in the UK they downgraded learners who had passed their CBT (cone test) from 250 s to 125 which in turn was the slow demise in the requirements.
I used to ride a the old RD 250 and Honda Wet dream years ago and in eh army can am and armstrongs (but they were 500s)
