Parting out???

Post by ICB »

Over the past 5 years I've seen a lot of bikes parted out through this(and the previous) website. I'm up in the air as to whether or not I should part out my bike or sell it whole so to all the guys who parted bikes out on here, was it worth your while, how much did you make off of it(if you don't mine me asking) and how long did it take you from start to finish(if you managed to sell all the parts).
If you don't want to answer the questions in open forum feel free to pm me. Thanks

What Year of machine are you contemplating parting out btw?
Michael
Yes Yes I know, I said, I'm building a project YZF1070

Basement is done now, 850 finished and gone...
Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin

Yeah, cause if it's a 87 FZR1000 then part it out! :poke

I've never parted a bike out, but my personal opinion is that unless the bike was damaged/wrecked I wouldn't part it out. Just depends on the time you want to spend boxing and shipping off parts.
